A03ii Private Special Isle of Skye Tour taking in Eilean Donan Castle, the Armadale Ferry, Mallaig, Harry Potter Viaduct, Glenfinnan Monument, Inverlochy Castle and the Great Glen - Eleven Hours - our most fabulous tour.

Mountain scenery from one of our Skye tours.

You are collected from your Inverness hotel, B&B, the airport or station and we head along the side of Loch Ness stopping at various view points. Scenery along the road to Skye

After Invermoriston we take a stunning drive towards the romantic Isle of Skye. En route is some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery including the renowned Five Sisters of Kintail.

Eventually we arrive at one of Scotland's most photographed castles. Eilean Donan Castle where time is provided for a visit. Other alternatives are available for those who just want a photograph of the castle rather than a visit.

We cross the arching Skye bridge to the Isle providing opportunities for a picnic lunch or lunch at the Clan Donald Centre. Alternatively, depending on the weather and time you spend out of the vehicle en route, there is a stunning north Sleat loop to take with great views of the Cuillins too.

Among the options you can choose is to grab a sandwich and build in extra photostops or take a sit down lunch in the charming Ardvasaar Hotel or the renowned Eilean Iarmain (Isle Ornsay) Hotel.

We take a short ferry ride to the small fishing harbour of Mallaig and then back along the "Road To The Isles". The latter includes the opportunity to see the famous "Harry Potter Viaduct" and the Glenfinnan monument. From this location you can also see the location of the computer generated Hogwarts from the "Order of the Phoenix" and "Goblet of Fire" and see from where the galleon emerged in the same film. This monument is supposed to beIsle of Skye the rallying point for Charles Edward Stewart, but our guides can also show you the more likely point for the raising of Bonnie Prince Charlie's Standard which is up a short path nearby. We will also give you a good overview of the Jacobite Uprisings (NOT Rebellions!) during this part of the tour.

Another short visit is to the medieval Inverlochy Castle (one of the best preserved medieval keeps in Scotland), once the stronghold of the Comyn clan, the arch rivals of the Bruce family.

Then back towards Inverness with more photostops at the Commando War Memorial and Loch Lochy depending on the time available.

It should be noted that ferries can be cancelled in poor weather and in that case we will take alternative routes. It is daylight until very late in June so the whole journey is in bright daylight. The ferry operator may adjust their upcoming schedules and we may have to adjust timings to meet them.
