Our
guide
will pick you up from your hotel or other location and take you south into the
Cairngorm Mountains.
Shortly after leaving Inverness there are terrific views looking back over the Moray Firth as the road gains altitude.
Firstly we will head for the Cairngorm Mountain Railway for wonderful views over hundreds of square miles of the Highlands, weather permitting! The railway is not just fun and scenic, but also leads to the Ptarmigan Restaurant for a stunning coffee break location and there is an excellent exhibition on the natural history of the Cairngorms. We may recommend an alternative itinerary if the weather is not conducive to visiting the mountain top visitor centre.
The tour can be extended to provide options to visit forests or beaches or perhaps a trip to Aviemore and the Strathspey Steam Railway. This is a particularly lovely area of Scotland and completely different, scenically to Loch Ness and the Western Highlands.
Price: £132 for up to six passengers - can be extended to a full day.
