You are collected from your Inverness hotel, B&B, the airport or station and we head along the side of Loch Ness stopping at various view points, perhaps to photograph Urquhart Castle or the Telford bridge at Invermoriston.
We
design the tour based on your requirements and flex the itinerary depending
on the length of time you spend at each beauty spot or heritage location.
So, if you spend a long time photographing hairy coos, we will adjust the day to compensate. Yes, you'll miss something, but you'll never know it. You'd need days to see everything on this route. If you make short stops we'll add in additional features you were not even expecting. That is what personal guiding is all about - you and what you find interesting and enjoyable.
After Invermoriston we take a stunning drive towards the romantic Isle of Skye. En route is some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery including the renowned Five Sisters of Kintail which you can see in this photograph.
Eventually we arrive at one of Scotland's most photographed castles. Eilean Donan Castle where time is provided for a visit. Note that the castle is closed in the winter. Here you have an option to visit the castle, but bear in mind it was only constructed in the 20th century, so if you have already visited or plan to visit real medieval or historic castles then you might want to just stop for snapshots of this one. Again talk to your guide about options if you do or don't enter it.
We cross the arching Skye bridge to the Isle providing opportunities for a picnic lunch or lunch at the Clan Donald Centre. Great views of the Cuillins too either from the Sleat Peninsula or from remote Elgol, where Bonnie Prince Charlie hid out from the redcoats. You get the options to visit a smokehouse and buy some smoked salmon or venison to snack upon, or, at Elgol sample the amazing selection of teas and scones at the Cuillin View Tearoom. Alternatively you can grab a sandwich and build in extra photostops or take a sit down lunch in the charming Eilean Iarmain Hotel.
Depending on the time available, on the return journey we take the coastal road from the Kyle of Lochalsh to the charming seaside village of Plockton. We then join the Lochcarron road for some terrific scenery.

We enjoy some stunning scenery on the leisurely drive back to Inverness taking in the Black Isle and views of both the Moray Firth and Beauly Firth.
It should be noted that in poor weather we may recommend alternative routes and will discuss this with you on the day. Also, during the winter, early spring and late autumn, daylight may curtail some aspects of the tour.
